I had the privilege last night of shooting with an amazing artist, Adriana Michima!  After cycling through about two hours of various styles this was how we wrapped the night up! 

I have been feeling really creative lately and have even done a few shoots after a long long break.  This shot is from last night and it links to the new gallery I created on here to showcase my light painting work.  I'll post more later on some of the techniques I'm using :)  With the exception of some color-balancing in post these are all done entirely in-camera in a single exposure!

This past Friday I shot this year's Bohemia event, The Prohibition of Lust.  Check out the best of the best and all the rest!

Done on the iPad with procreate, Lens Flare, Photo Toaster. Shape created from two face shots of Taylor and a body reference I found on a queen of diamonds picture.

Original shot by me with camera a couple years ago.  Used as reference for new e-painting in Procreate.  Also used: Decim8, Image Blender, PhotoToaster, CinemaFX.

Selfie shot on iPhone, imported to iPad, used as a reference in Procreate for a 'drawn from scratch but with a reference' piece, blown to bits in Decim8, merged with Image Blender, touched up with Photo Toaster.  All iPad except original shot which was iPhone.

Drawn on the iPad with procreate, based on a Facebook picture of my friend's head and the body/chip shape of a random poker shot I found.

The shape of the player/puck was based on an illustration by Seon Winn.  I redrew it, added the leaf, olympic rings, and texture.  Canada won gold for both the men and women!

A few months ago I did an art pice on my iPad for this year's SkyTalks track at DefCon.  I was pleased enough with it.  That was originally going to be the end of my involvement with the project since I wasn't going to ba able to make it this year and I didn't have a ton of time.  BK asked me for some assistance with the the badges and it caught me at a moment where I actually had a moment so I obliged.

After reducing my work to black/white/single color I was struck with the contrast of this piece versus my orignal piece.  BK asked me to do the DefCon program page for SkyTalks as well and I had to make a decision.  I agreed to do the page but I also made the decision to completely retool the main design, using the badges as an inspiration.  Here is the result in wallpaper form:

Yesterday I had the honor of attending Slutwalk Denver 2013.  It's an event that started after a police officer in Toronto made a comment that a rape victim wouldn't have been raped if she hadn't been dressing like a slut.  As you might imagine there was a lot of reaction to this statement.  Wearing sexy attire is NOT an invitation to touch.  You know what causes rape?  Rapists.  No victim blaming, no "you should have worn something else".  More educating perpetrators about what is right and what isn't.  Let's do our part to change rape culture even as we partake in the sexy side of life.
